About Sandy
Sandy Kastel is the founder of WIMA-Women In Music and Arts “Empowering Artists
of All Ages through Education & Mentorship.” She is passionate about promoting
the performing, visual & literary arts.
Kastel listened to an eclectic mix of jazz and country music as a child. She was
fascinated by the song and dance styles of the 30‘s musicals and began her
performing in talent shows and plays in school and toured the US with a band,
expanding her repertoire of music to include the current music of the times. the
first Non-Classical Talent Award Winner in the Miss America Pageant, stood alone on
the stage to a standing ovation of 50,000 people after singing “My Man” from Funny
Girl. Since that night, Kastel has reached audiences around the world, performing in
hotels, theaters, lounges and cabarets; enjoying a lifelong career in the
entertainment industry. Like most performing artists today, Kastel can be heard or
seen on film, television, video, albums, cd’s, dvd’s, radio, online, by phone or pda.
Recording artist and songwriter, Kastel has recorded three of her own albums, the
newest of which is Indiana Rain due 2012.
Author in the Life Choices books, Kastel is an advocate of taking responsibility for
one’s own successes. A role model and an inspiration Kastel is excited about her
new series of Empowering Women Workshops Don’t Tell Me I Can’t, 5 Steps to
Pursue Your Passion & It’s Never Too Late to Discover the Diamonds in Your Dreams.
